Definition :

Misanthropic / adj. A general hatred or contempt for fellow human beings,
of other people in general. Opposite of philanthropist.

Heather : misanthropist

Heather : " This movie just shows how stupid people are. I hate people ."

I've had a great few weeks - my Mum arrived from England on the 9th, and whilst she was in the air my brother called to say his daughter had been born that same morn.
I got to tell Mum quickly about her grandaughter when she called from NY to confirm she had a flight to ATL.
I plucked Morgie from school on the way to the airport with Jay, and we waited unpaitently as they kept delaying the flight. We rushed her as soon as she stepped out, and got her to dinner, then home, but it was too dark for her to see our new home for the first time. I had the rest of the week off, so we did alot of touring of the neighborhood. As soon as she saw our shop, she declared that was where she was going to make her home if she moved back. I told her that Jay was fine with the idea of her building a home on the adjacent lot, I didn't know how he was going to take her absconding with his " sound studio ".
Apparently, as I hear it from her on her return to Jolly Ol', Jay spoke with her and gave his blessing on the shop. ( Is that true, Jay ? )
Mum and I spent most of her time here out in the garden, and going to garden centers buying plants. Mum's a green thumb, or at least the closest to it, so she had me slaving away out in the yard all week. I was relieved to get back to work for rest time.
As the week wore on, Morg and I kept trying to talk her into staying until Saturday, but she wouldn't give up her Friday departure date. Someone at work asked me why I didn't try to go with her _ which made me wonder : Why wasn't I going ? It would give me a few more days with her, and I'd get to see the new neice, to boot.
So I begged at work, and my supervisor Jim was great about it, told me all week to spend time with momma, then turned around and gave me Friday and Monday off to drive to DC and back. I don't think anyone knows how much that meant. I was able to keep a straight face whilst Mum spoke about renting a car for her trip, then Morg and I surprised her with the fact we were going with her. She didn't believe it at first, but then you could see it in her eyes how grateful she was we were going with her. If anything, that made it worth while !

Great.
I get the domain back up, but for some reason all my pictures aren't there.
It's like someone just erased everything and started me from scratch.
I shudder to think what would have happened without Blogger.

I'm an Auntie !

My brother and his gal Jennifer had a baby girl the 9th of March. I know it's late news, but my Mum was arriving the same day from England for a visit. So she's a Granny a second time now. I didn't even think of Lex posting about it, never mind a picture, but there you are, he can suprise us still.
